Where Is the Power Button on Sony TV

Where Is the Power Button on Sony TV (With Pictures!)

Don’t you wish TV manufacturers would just keep the same basic TV design and button locations for newer TV models?

It’s as if each new model has an entirely new design, and the power button is placed in different location. It’s cruel!

If you are unable to find the power button on your Sony TV, trust me – you are not alone. Sony doesn’t make it easy to find!

Where Is the Power Button on my Sony TV?

The power button on Sony TVs can be found in one of these four locations: 1) underneath the front center of the TV. If you don’t find a power button there, check 2) the front right, underside of the TV 3) back of the TV, on the left side 4) back of TV, on the right side.

Every single Sony TV sold has a power button on the TV. So have a bit of patience and follow this guide closely in order to locate it.

1) Front center, underneath

These days, the most popular Sony TV power button location is underneath the center of the TV, towards the front.

The exact positioning of the power button may vary ever so slightly depending on the TV model you own, but either way the power button will be found in this general location.

You can reach your hand underneath the center of your television and feel around a bit until you locate it.

2) Front right, underside

I dislike this power button location the most. It’s almost as if Sony was intentionally trying to hide the button!

Once again, start to feel underneath the center of your Sony TV and then work your way to the right. Eventually you will come across the power button on the right-hand side.

In my experience, the power button is usually set a bit further back with this location. So be sure to reach back a bit as you attempt to locate it.

3) Back, left side

Many of the older Sony TV models have volume up and down buttons, in addition to the power button.

On these models, the power button is usually found on the back left-hand side of the television, towards the bottom.

Simply push your TV out, away from the wall and you should be able to spot it quite easily. Just be careful when moving your TV!

4) Back, right side

If you searched everywhere I detailed above, and you still can’t locate the power button on your Sony TV, I am almost certain you’ll find it on the back right-hand side of the television. Towards the bottom.

This is another bad power button location by Sony in my opinion.

Once again, move your TV out, away from the wall and be sure to get a good look at the back right side. You should spot the power button there.

If you don’t see it at first, have a little but of patience and keep looking. It might help if you grab a flashlight, or use the flash from your phone to find it!

Sony TV Manuals (all models and years)

If you’ve made it this far, and you’re simply unable to find the power button on your Sony TV, you should locate the user manual for your TV model.

The manual will provide a detailed diagram, showing the exact location of your TV’s power button.

But first, look on the back of your TV for a sticker. If you look closely, you should see the model number of your TV on that sicker.

Enter that model number into Sony’s TV support site. Sony has a great library of manuals for every single TV model they’ve ever made.

Conclusion

Just about every year, Sony decides to change the location of the power button on its TVs.

If you are having difficulty locating the power button on your Sony TV, you are not alone! They don’t make it easy.

The good news is that every Sony TV does have a power button, you just need to find it!

Here are the four main Sony TV power button locations:

  1. Middle, underside
  2. Front right, underside
  3. Back, left side
