The smallest 4K TV you can buy is 32 inches and itโs made by Samsung. In fact, Samsung makes the only 32โณ 4K TVs on the market today โ the Q50R Series and Q60A Series. The next smallest 4K TV starts at 40 inches, a full 8 inches larger than Samsung!
Both the Q50R and the Q60A 4K TVs get amazing reviews. Theyโre also perfect for small spaces!

Iโve lumped my overall review of these small 4K TVs together because they are the same in just about every way.
The two main differences are:
- The Q50R came out in 2019 whereas the Q60A came out in 2021.
- The Q50R works with Bixby and SmartThings and the Q60A works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings.
The prices on both tend to fluctuate a bit, but knowing that these TVs are more or less identical, I would go with the older model (Q50R) if it was significantly cheaper.
If the prices are about equal and both TVs are in stock, I would instead buy the newer, Q60A series.
Overall, these little 4K TVs pack a serious punch, and for the price they are extremely reasonable.
For your image you can expect rich blacks and bright, vivid colors that explode off the screen and come to life with true-to-life flesh tones. This is thanks to Samsungโs HDR (High Dynamic Range).
Simply put, it significantly enhances brightness, contrast and color levels.
Keep in mind however, that all TVโs are setup at the factory and they are usually set to neutral across the board. You need to adjust each individual picture setting to optimize the overall quality! These settings can be found under Settings > Picture> Expert Settings, on the TVโs menu.
Donโt be afraid to play around with these until you get your picture just the way you like it. Worst case, if things get out of hand, you can just factory reset your TV back to its original settings.
As for the sound, I wasnโt particularly impressed, but then again what TVsโ speakers sound good?
Donโt get me wrong, the speakers arenโt unbearable โ Iโd just prefer to connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones or speakers to improve the experience.
If youโre into video games, the Samsung Q50R and Q60A are the best, smallest 4K TVs for gaming available.
The low input lag makes gaming feel extremely responsive. But do keep in mind that the refresh rate is limited to 60Hz and these TVs do not support variable refresh rate technology.
Iโve also found that the amazing contrast ratio makes these TVs well-suited for gaming in the dark, which just so happens to be when I do most of gaming!
Maybe one of the biggest downsides to these TVs however, are their narrow viewing angles. If youโre looking for a TV that you and all the neighbors can circle around to watch the game on Sundays, I would pass on these.
But then again, who is putting a 32โ inch TV in their living room anyways? These TVs are perfect for bedrooms, kitchens, RV campers and any other small space.
In those types of environments, you shouldnโt have to worry about viewing angles at all.
Overall, I donโt think you can go wrong with either of these small 4K TVs. If youโre having doubts just check out the thousands of positive reviews on Amazon or BestBuy!
Benefits of 4K HDR
If youโre looking to future proof your TV purchase you want to make sure youโre buying a TV with both 4K and HDR bundled together.
This combination significantly boosts your gaming and entertainment experience.
Luckily the Q50R and the Q60A both bundle 4K and HDR!
4K is a resolution type. Itโs how many pixels are on your display at once. And more pixels means a better, sharper image.
Thatโs why 4K is often called โUltra HDโ, or UHD for short, because itโs like HD but on steroids.
When comparing 4K to HD, the 4K display will be much clearer and more life-like.
HDR on the other hand stands for High Dynamic Range.
HDR offers a much wider color gamut than the standard sRGB panels in most TVs today. In fact, HDR has 2x the color range!
With modern gaming consoles starting to support HDR, youโre able to get deeper blacks and more realistic images and scenery when gaming.
And streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime are rolling out new HDR content every day.
If youโre questioning just how big an impact HDR can have, pull up Planet Earth II with HDR enabled. Prepare to have your mind blown.
Itโs the combination of 4K plus HDR that takes viewing and gaming to the next level on the Samsung Q50R and Q60A series.
Benefits of a smaller screen
Bigger isnโt necessarily better.
Some rooms simply arenโt big enough for a large TV screen because it would take over the entire space.
Many bedrooms and kitchens, for example, benefit greatly from smaller, understated TVs.
Itโs also nice to be able to easily pick up and relocate your TV when youโre on the go or looking to move your setup to different room. Thatโs a lot more difficult to do when your TV is 50โณ or greater.
The amount of money you have to spend is also a factor when thinking about TV size. Smaller screens typically cost less than larger models, so if youโre on a budget, small TVs are the way to go.
Conclusion
The smallest 4K television you can buy is 32 inches and itโs made by Samsung. In fact, Samsung makes the only 32โณ 4K TVs on the market โ the Q50R and Q60A series.
The next smallest 4K TVs start at 40 inches, a whole 8 inches larger than the Q50R and Q60A!
These small TVs pack a big punch, with 4K HDR and extremely low input lag โ making them great for gaming or watching your favorite show.
And because theyโre so small, theyโre perfect for your bedroom, kitchen, RV camper, or any other small space.
If youโre looking for a high-end 4K TV thatโs small and doesnโt break the bank, look no further than Samsungโs 32โณ Q50R and Q60A series!
